As one of the oldest Marine Insurance Brokers in the market, the origins of the Group can almost be considered as those of the Marine and Transport Insurance sector itself. The oldest parts of the company date back almost two hundred years to the Royal Decrees of 1816 for Le Roy D’Amigny, and in 1818 for Boistel & Flepp.
The roots of the modern company can be traced back to 1935 in Marseille, with the formation of SNC Gogioso Eyssautier & Cie. It is with this main company that Le Roy D’Amigny and Flepp joined in 1978, followed by Boistel in 1990. It is in the wake of these mergers, and with the addition of Pages in Marseille that Groupe Eyssautier was created in 1994, in its current format. The Group is currently recognised as the leading Marine Broker specialising in Hull, Cargo and related marine risks. In 1994 the Eyssautier family invited GRAS SAVOYE as the largest French Insurance Broker, to participate in the shareholding of the company. Whilst maintaining its family style approach, the Group has still managed to expand, and to play a significant role in the highly competitive International marketplace. The Group still prefers a close and direct relationship with its clients, and to further this objective opened an office in Athens in 1995. In recognition of the globalisation of the insurance markets, the Group became fully accredited Lloyd’s Broker in July 2005, thus merging an intimate knowledge of the European Marine Markets with those of Lloyd’s and the London market.
